Young people from around the globe have taken to the streets–and to the United Nations–to protest adult inaction on climate change. In this episode, EdSource takes a look at how students and teachers in California are helping to raise awareness and shape action in the fight against global warming.
Louis Freedburg speaks with one of the young environmental activists who helped organize the actions in California, 16-year-old Isha Clarke, a senior at MetWest High School in Oakland and a leader in a group called Youth vs. Apocalypse and Karen Cowe, CEO of Ten Strands, an organization that promotes environmental literacy in California schools, about how climate change and other environmental issues are being taught in California.
