Dean Reese

Dean Reese is a science coordinator of outdoor education and environmental literacy for San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). In this position, he manages the SJCOE Durham Ferry Outdoor Education Center and works towards expanding environmental literacy throughout San Joaquin County and beyond. He is also the project director for the Region 6 California Environmental Literacy Project, a coalition of approximately 70 teachers from Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties, whose goal it is to increase implementation of California’s Environmental Principles and Concepts and environmental literacy of their students. Dean enjoys supporting teachers in their efforts to connect students with the natural world to move towards a more sustainable future.
