California State PTA’s mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. To achieve this mission, California State PTA advocates for legislation, policies, and measures that safeguard the health, safety, welfare, culture, and well-being of children and families, including access to mental health services and support for vulnerable youth. The organization also works to promote evidence-based, informed family engagement; expand civic engagement, learning, and participation; and enact common-sense gun control. In addition, California State PTA provides programs, expertise, and resources to strengthen and expand PTA advocacy at the local level.
California State PTA is equally committed to advancing its organizational goals. These include cultivating an inclusive organization, strategically planning for the future of PTA, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the association. The organization also seeks to expand membership and its value, strengthen PTA’s statewide impact, and provide training, development, and support for leaders at all levels.
