Emma Gubbels
Emma Gubbels is a junior at Burlingame High School. She loves to spend time hiking in the native California wilderness, traveling all over the world, and swimming in the ocean. She enjoys being active with her friends and looking for ways to shift to a greener lifestyle. Over the years, Emma has started to become more aware of the impact that herself and her community has on the surrounding environment, and now works to address the most pressing climate issues while educating the people around her. Emma is a Youth Climate Ambassador, and worked with Zoe and Olivia to create the native plant garden at BHS. For her last two years on campus, Emma hopes to keep making progress toward a sustainable school, and inspire more students to advocacy. Outside of environmentalism, Emma loves to run on the track team at her school and ride her bike.
