Deborah Bruns

Deborah Bruns is currently the Director of Curriculum & Instruction for the Yolo County Office of Education (YCOE). She also directs YCOE’s Project SOLAR, an educational initiative to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to pursue college and careers in sustainable energy fields through courses, hands-on lessons, work experience field trips, and internships. Project SOLAR’s Summer Energy Academy for high school students was honored with a Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association in 2015. Deb has served as YCOE STEM Coordinator, directed a California Math & Science Partnership, facilitated Lesson Study for the Sacramento Area Science Project, and coordinated a STEM Service Learning Initiative. She has served as the CREEC Network Coordinator for Region 3 (Alpine, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, & Yuba Counties) since 2002. Deb holds a multiple subject teaching credential from UC Davis.
