Krista Croteau
I have been a classroom teacher for eighteen years and co-founded Redwood Preparatory Charter School, where I also served for seven years as the Director/Superintendent. For the past two years, I've returned to the classroom, teaching Transitional Kindergarten. I value curiosity, compassion, connection and make it a point to recognize the gifts each child brings to the classroom. In addition to my classroom work, I enjoy teaching yoga for PE and working with students individually and in small groups to support their social-emotional learning. I am proud to have completed a fellowship with the California Global Education Project in 2024. I live in Eureka with my husband, Steve and our two dogs Savanna and Dotty. Outside of school, I love to read, do yoga, hike, camp, swim and travel. When I retire from education, I aspire to run a retreat center.
