Kate Gallagher
Kate Gallagher taught in East and West Oakland for 20 years, teaching 2nd and 3rd grades and K–5 science prep in schools where over 90 percent of students qualified for free or reduced lunch. As a District Science Core Leadership Team member, Lead Science Teacher, and NGSS Early Implementer, she helped Oakland teachers and schools deliver three-dimensional science instruction. She continues to support elementary science through her work with FOSS science, the WestEd K-12 Alliance, and the California Fish and Wildlife Department’s Classroom Aquarium Education Program.
