Green Schoolyards America inspires communities to enrich their school grounds and use them to improve children’s wellbeing, learning, and play while contributing to the ecological health and resilience of their cities. Green Schoolyards America envisions a future in which school grounds are vibrant centers for their neighborhoods and act as green infrastructure for their cities, and in which children and youth have daily access to nature on their school grounds to improve their learning, play, health, and social environments.
UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science recently released “A Field at Risk: The Impact of COVID-19 on Environmental and Outdoor Science Education.”
