Inside the Outdoors

The Orange County Department of Education’s Inside the Outdoors turns nature’s classroom into a living laboratory for over 125,000 students each year.  Our field trips, Traveling Scientist, and Service-Learning community action projects connect classroom lessons to real life experiences.

In the 44 years since the first students stepped off a school bus and into nature, Inside the Outdoors has fostered a love of science and the environment for over 3.5 million Southern California children, teachers, and parents.
